JAN 2014, UNITED KINGDOM:  Relying on conventional remedial technologies, a major industrial facility in central England was unsuccessful in effectively remediating an oil spill accumulated in a bedrock environment.  Consequently, the oil persistent in the sandstone formation - at depths exceeding 30 meters below grade -was at a risk of potentially migrating offsite.  Based on a recommendation from a local environmental consulting firm, the facility retained EIC to demonstrate its unique remedial technology known as the non-aqeous phase extraction technique (NET).  During a field test, EIC successfully demonstrated the NET system's effectiveness to both the industrial facility and to the UK Environmental Agency.  EIC's NET system is currently recovering LNAPL at oil-water ratios greater than 99% enabling the industrial facility to reach remedial end points at a fraction of the lifecycle costs and in a reasonable timeframe.
